The Lightbox gallery and museum in Woking is one of the most exciting cultural spaces in the South East. Three stunning galleries host a huge range of exhibitions, changing regularly.

The building is also home to Woking’s Story, an interactive museum of the town’s history. If you are visiting with children you will find plenty to keep them occupied with our hands-on activities and interactive displays. You can also enjoy a coffee and slice of delicious cake or lunch in our canalside Café. Afterwards you can browse for a special gift or memento of your visit in our Gift Shop.

Young Contemporary Talent from The Ingram Collection

This exhibition, drawn from the Young Contemporary Talent branch of The Ingram Collection, will include established and up and coming artists such as Haroon Mirza, Harrison Pearce, Victoria Sin, Steven Ingman, and Tahmina Negmat. Cutting-edge painting, sculpture, film and installation will all feature, celebrating the thought-provoking work being produced by young artists in the UK. The gallery will be taken over large-scale artworks across mediums, creating an immersive experience for visitors.

Sidney Francis: Photographs of Woking in the 1920s & 1930s

The work of Sidney Francis (1891-1973) offers an insight into life in Woking and nearby towns in the 1920s and 1930s. The photographic collection from The Surrey History Centre highlights significant events such as Eid celebrations, visits of American war widows, wedding parties and sports teams.

Share the Impressionists’ depiction of their everyday world in this extraordinary exhibition, showcasing a rare combination of French Impressionist paintings and sculpture, spanning from the early 1860s to the beginning of the First World War.
