Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera have iconic status in Mexico. Inspired by Aztec and Maya imagery Rivera's intricate visual narratives adorn the walls of public buildings. Kahlo, arguably Mexico’s most original painter, made herself the principal theme of her art. This lecture chronicles their turbulent marriage and Mexico's history after the 1910 Revolution.
