The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition is now in its 32nd year and continues to celebrate and reward excellence and originality in the medium of watercolour. It remains the largest and most prestigious showcase of contemporary watercolour painting in the UK. We are delighted to be showing the exhibition once again at Guildford House Gallery.
The 2019 judging panel for the competition were Sophie Charalambous, artist; Simon Martin, Director, Pallant House Gallery; Barbara Nicholls, artist; Helen Waters, Director, Alan Cristea Gallery, and Louis Wise, critic and writer for The Sunday Times.
Congratulations go to the winners this year. The London Wall Partners Prize of £8,000 has been awarded to Leo Davey for his Prize winning watercolour, Condensation. Aidan Potts has received the £3,000 Second Prize for his painting, Pavement Primrose. The Third Prize of £1000 has been awarded to Mark Elsmore for Iron Mighty and the Pegasus Young Artist Prize has been awarded to Katherine Jackson for Self portrait at night.
