The Memory of Water

July 5 @ 7:45 pm - July 8 @ 10:00 pm

Everyone of a certain age will have experienced or be in the process of witnessing the slow decline and death of a parent.  Anyone who has been to a funeral will know there are moments of laughter.  Shelagh Stephenson’s funny and beautifully crafted play will resonate with audiences.  It is being performed by The Nomads at their theatre in Bishopsmead Parade, East Horsley KT24RT.

Wednesday 5th July to Saturday 8th at 7.45 pm.

Three sisters come together before their mother’s funeral, each haunted by their own demons; their memories of childhood or problems with a disappointing partner.  The three each have different memories of the same events, causing constant bickering about whose memories are true.  The conflict becomes angry, desperate, poignant but also wildly funny.  The ‘ghostly’ presence of their mother has an impact too as she demands to be understood and appreciated.

This was Shelagh Stephenson’s first stage play, which opened in London in 1996 and won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy.

Tickets are £12 adults, children/students £10.  Box office 01483 284747 and leave a message or book online at www.nomadtheatre.com.  The theatre is easily accessible to wheelchair users.  As this play is being performed in the studio tickets are limited so do not delay booking.
