‘Embraceable Ella’ Jazz in the Park
August 20 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm£12
This year is the centenary of the legendary First Lady of Song, Ella Fitzgerald, and what better way to spend a fabulous summer’s evening than with a celebration of Ella’s music with Joanna Eden (described by Time Out as “The UK’s answer to Diana Krall and Norah Jones’), and her special guest, trumpeter Paul Higgs standing in for Louis Armstrong!
With compositions by Gershwin, Rodgers, Porter, Arlen, Ellington, Van Heusen and other writers of the Golden Age, expect an entertaining afternoon of anecdote, insight and classic songs from the repertoire of one of the greatest vocalists the jazz world has ever heard.
With the Chris Ingham trio, and an opening set from the Farnham Big Band.
Bring a picnic and your favourite tipple, and spread out on the lawns to enjoy a fantastic evening of top quality entertainment in this beautiful setting in aid of the bowel cancer charity GUTS, whose aim is to improve survival of people with bowel cancer by early detection, and to raise awareness of the disease.
