Elgar: The Apostles
March 21 @ 19:30 - 21:45
Created at the height of his powers as a composer, shortly after the success of his orchestral masterpiece Enigma Variations, The Apostles is Edward Elgar’s most ambitious and dramatic choral work. Written for large choir with no fewer than six soloists, all accompanied by full romantic symphony orchestra, this is a rare opportunity to hear this great work in performance. Guildford Choral welcomes the additional singers of Salisbury Musical Society, six international soloists and Guildford’s resident professional orchestra Southern Pro Musica for a choral night that is not to be missed.
