Charlie Dore – Live with Julian Littman and Guildford Vox Choir

June 23 @ 7:30 pm

At the Electric Theatre on Sunday 23rd June 2019 @ 7.30pm

“…an amazingly astute, moving, intelligent and connected songwriter…a voice like Kate McGarrigle meets Dory Previn. Wonderful ”. Mike Harding

A special evening of eclectic, contemporary folk as multi award winner Charlie Dore, one of the UK’s most respected singer-songwriters shares her live favourites including songs from her recent double award-winning album, Dark Matter…this time with some massive harmony backing from Guildford Vox.

This will be a unique evening as it will be the first time Charlie has sung with Guildford Vox for over six years and there will be several fresh songs for the choir to get their teeth into. Charlie’s co-pilot for tonight is her ‘honorary brother’, brilliant multi-instrumentalist Julian Littman of Steeleye Span The evening promises a fast moving show as the pair swap guitars, piano, harmonica, mandolin, harmonium and ukulele as well as stories, banter and versions of songs she’s written for others including George Harrison, Jimmy Nail and a new version of her own worldwide hit, Pilot of the Airwaves.

“A gift for melody, brave, poignant, entertaining, original ” Guardian ★★★★

‘A songwriter of exceptional talent…what singles Dore out from the rest is her lyrics. One of the UK’s most original talents.’ Rock&Reel
